Please remember that even if BEC clears the application with 2001 priority dates. These people still need to:
1) Apply for I140
2) Have I-140 Approved
3) Apply for I-485 only if their priority date is current
4) Complete various I-485 tasks like fingerprinting, BACKGROUND CHECKS (this is a huge one and unless you are lucky you can get stranded for anywhere between 6 months to 3 years)
5) Now after completing 1 - 4 above you can expect that they will apply a visa number to the application

2. Understood there is only one bread earner, well you do pay 1000s of $ to fill stupid forms to lawyers. A fraction of that amount will produce bigger bang here at IV.
3. Some people here in IV are out of the job but still continuing on their mission. Unfortunately, cowards like you will also be benefited by their efforts.
4. If you really wanted to help, u could have started by joining the state chapter.

What I see alot of are #1 asking people to contribute and #2 members complaining about people asking their questions in the wrong area or opening too many threads. Someone needs to explain fully what Core is doing and list ways for the members to help. I would love to help if I can. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to offer financially being that my husband and I are living off one income. I wish I could go to the rally but I cant afford to do that either. There must be some way that I can help- stuffing envelopes or something- anything. But what I would love to see is an explanation of what it is the Core is trying to accomplish and a set of guidelines for posting if possible because I am so sick and tired of seeing "please close this thread"

Ask your law firm why they are charging you so much. Below are the rates charged by my lawyer and should not be too different from what most of the others charge. If the lawyer doesn't answer, then show these numbers to your employer and lodge a strong protest with them.
Adjustment of Status

Work Authorization Cards (each) $200
Advance Parole Travel Documents(each)$200
If you are working on an hourly basis, does your employer pay you when you're on the bench? If he doesn't, keep record of that and once you get your GC sue him over back wages and complain to DOL. These people don't deserve any thing better.

My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.
In general they are inclusive ie 485 + EAD + AP for primary is $1000 and for additional is $500 which is a standard.

If there was ever a greater need to call your congressman/woman/senator/CHC member, the time is NOW. As the momentum builds, we need to call in greater numbers to mobilize congressional support in terms of more sponsors. Please CALL per action items. Call now. Ask others to call. Make it a resolution to get one friend a day to call. And persuade that one friend to donate.

Brush up your General Knowledge, look around you. If you see, there is a priority date on my post - Infy does not sponspor GC's, atleast not with those priority dates in EB2 category. Can you deduce what that implies?
You are thinking only about the small percentage of "lost Indians" (including me) who are in this mess - if you really think about your motherland (and mine), help guys like NRN get a good infrastructure in place. By ridiculing him, what are you trying to say? had you been in his place, what would you have done? Settle here immediately, and launch a daily "freighter" to bring all Indians to US? We filed our AOS, EAD and AP on Aug 13th at NSC. We are from Santa Clara county in california. I heard that people from santa clara are getting FP's very late?
We have got our Receipts on Sept 30 and EAD on Oct 28th. No FP and AP yet.
My question is how to create service request?
We are planning out of country. Just waiting for this FP to be done.
Can we postpone FP for a specific period of time?

2. For EB3 adding 20K visas will slow things more. But beyond that we can't say anything else.
3. ROW EB3 will be slow and Philippines will be dead slow.
The biggest thing that CIS/State needs to understand is that for EB2, they are going to pass 2007 Fiasco cutoff in the spillover and may waste the numbers.
We need to let them start a long term planning and make sure they don't waste visas. It is unfortunate that State thinks CIS can process all the AOS applications in a calendar quarter in most cases and in a month in some cases during end of year scenario. State needs to include DOL statistics and CIS processing bottlenecks to advance the dates. It is unfortunate that none of these agencies can sort their applications on date correctly.

Is any one's LUD changed recently?
Would you mind updating your profile. The 4 or 5 posts above yours were about LUD's. I am not sure what else you asking for. ??
And, finger prints are usually valid for 15 months, and there is no definite trend as to who is asked for finger prints again and who is not.

Congrats that you got it somehow. I also took a Infopass on Nov 7th and status changed to "Doc Mailed" within 2 Hrs of Infopass Appt ( spooky :eek:)and we both discussed about meeting Senator's office if it doesn't come in 7 days.
Looks like time has come for me to meet Senator/Congressman... Today is Nov 14th and in 7 days the mailed doc didn't come. I dont have any lawyer.
Shall i go waste a day and meet Senator or wait for some more - Kind of in a dual doubt and confusion :confused:

This I hope will convince more people to join and align themselves with IV's activities than going in their seperate ways.
Most of us will have ideas, but agreed with a consensus we should let IV Core decide on a set of activities and hopefully more members embrace it.
We can never control what anti's think or how immigrants are viewed etc. We ignore others and we fight for what we think is a just measure.
Look within ourselves than looking at others.
I hope more people embrace IV(monetarily, physically, morally) for us to be able to bring volume into our side of the arguments.
