Bank of America is discriminating against non-immigrants by not leting then open self directed brokrage account. It's like going in to a store and store personal telling you that I cannot sell you gallon of milk because you are non immigrant.

Thanks so much man! Actually I was all set for Sept 13 but have a work appointment on Sept 18, yet I am even thinking of cancelling that to attend. I don't care how expensive it is. Looks like you know a lot about non profit companies that sponsor cap exempt h1bs, can you please provide a list or a few jobs that are posted under this category...or atleast where to start looking for these jobs...?
These kind of cap exempt visas are only sponsered by Universities and very few research organizations....there arent many comapnies out there for non profit reasons..please dont throw suggestions/advices just for the heck of it...

what is that single document that will define legal status of a person?
visa stamp is what ppl presume..is indicative of status..we all know that it is not.
I 94..to some extent unless you changed status to H1 from F1 and did not go for H1 stamping..then you have to show the I 797 approval form..now..where will this madness stop
now how can a cop understand and verify all of this crap..and anyway..they give out licenses to only legal residents.

By the way your interpretation quoted below is exactly what numbersUSA used to claim that there is no visa available for recapture. And they used that argument to shoot down our recapture bill.
Knowing that PD's aren't going to move forward drastically, we need to start working towards some thing drastic like a bill/amendment. Or we can sit and mull over it and wait until the second week of Aug (when Sep bulletin is announced) to show our frustration.
If your argument is correct, there won't be any need for recapture laws that we all are working for. If the unused can be given to the next year, no visa will get wasted. USCIS/DOS can just give the unused in family category to Employment category in the following year and vice versa.

I understand that there is lot of fear among applicants that USCIS might retrogress the dates interimly sometime in july due to the expected high volume of applications filing in the begining of july.
To minimize the chance of USCIS from taking any such steps, shall we all unite and file the applications on a specific date in july probably on 30th of july? This will accomodate all applicants...so that we shall all be winners and use this opportunity to our advantage instead of competing amongst each other...where only a few will be winners and others will be loosers.
This will also reduce the pressure among applicants , attorneys and doctors.
Can the AILA cooperate? Will there be unity amongst applicants to make this possible??? any ideas ??

since there are many knowledgeable guys here ..I had another question - is there a law which says how the spillover should take place ? i.e. EB2(W) should go to EB2(I) etc ? I wonder why they don't send the extra visa's to the category that is in the worst position ..EB3 - I in this case ?
Only ROW EB3 spillover can make it to EB3 India and as ROW itself is retrogressed, that will not happen.
However, if you check 2007 assignments, Eb3 India got over 10K visas, though the stipulated limit is around 3K.

Only one question: Ultimately for which companies the h1b consultants work for? It is not for Indian companies. It is always for projects in US companies. Mind it. Let US companies decide whom they want? I do not understand Why some people here are talking that Indian companies are using h1b etc etc.
Go and ask US Govt to provide free College education in computers to everyone in US. Then you will not have all these problems right. Instead of dealing the problem that way simply blaming trade laws?

These companies outsource because it furthers their bottom line and enables them to do what they are good at may be it is home loans , making cars or selling clothes. The fact is republicans don’t like non whites to immigrate to US and the democrats are color blind to most extent but they are class conscious, they like illegals and poor people to immigrate to US because they can control them whereas they cannot control and herd the EB immigrants.
"reforming" the US immigration system by introducing a points based system where even existing applicants like the EB folks who have been in US for the last 10+ years have to re apply in points based nonsense system.
We will all have to fight for our cause but don’t have unrealistic expectations from CIR. Our best bet is a non cir piece meal bill visa recapture bill that addresses EB issues seperate from CIR, it is difficult to get such a bill passed but the chances for such a bill are better then Obama-durbin cir

My biggest fear is "choking up of the already inefficient system"...currently we at least can apply for something and expect it to be processed in few months (longer in some cases), get our EADs and APs renewed, call customer service with questions (although don't get needed info in most cases), get infopass....when they try to deal with "blue cards" and Z visas of 12 million plus illegals, none of this will be available.
And I do not want to start GC process from "scratch" in point bases system when I have spent so much time, money and energy in the current process...
Only and only Ron Gotcher can say "once CIR passes, everything will be current and stay current..." DREAM COME TRUE!
