I see everyone firing at each other (junior members, members, senior members, moderators and super administrators).
Here are my two cents to keep yourself calm, composed and dignified
1) Empathy will win friends and support
2) Sympathy you will have only when someone is humble and meek
3) If you lack both the society will ignore you
PS: In a fight the weak always get support, the big and strong are on their own. if they lose no one to cheer them up nor comforts.

personally i would close this thread if i did not feel it was unfair to the orginal poster.... there has been lack of civility from everyside. One rude poster, against whom there were several complaints. but even after he departed, iv bashing continued, and the pretexts are amazing. "it's an open forum" sure it is "no one should ask for contributions" really? what's an open forum? i believe the rudeness of the requests hurts our cause, but he is member like everyone else and can ask people to contribute if he wants- albeit without personal attacks which are against the forum guidelines.
btw there is a difference too between just contributing money and contributing in general. but one takes money the other takes effort and no one can apparently spare either!
there are 22,000 + members. everyone needs to understand that such a forum has all kinds of people and responses. grow up people, have a thicker skin and deal with it. no moderators or the forum has "abused" you. further it amazes me to hear that regulars who spend a ton of time on tracking threads claim to not know the organizations goals (on the front page!!) and want the core team to come explain. if the core team spent time trolling tracking threads to do that and police every piece of rude talk there would not be a forum. because...the forum only exists as part of a grassroots organization that is fighting retrogression. after the flower campaign and san jose rally, after july 17, if you are still "waiting" to be convinced, well congress is not waiting, the election cycle is not waiting and certainly retrogression is not. so maybe...if we fail...let's all wait...till 2013 as the democrat leader says...for any reform...will that be enough time to convince people living in NJ to ride up to DC and stand up for themseves?

This is relevant because some of us have EAD which is legal authorization to work (restricted though) or spouses have EADs (unrestricted). Placing barriers like US citizens only or Greencard holders only is discriminatory.

I called the customer service # on 11/04 and the guy told me that he is sending email reguest for my FP and I got FP notice (my attorney's office also got one) on 11/13. Hope this helps.

I understand the informational part of your post, but i don't understand the bad news part of it. How does getting a 2yr EAD change your I-485 processing? It will get processed whenever it supposed to be processed next.
There are ppl like me - EAD is pending for over 3.5 months and there's no decision. Be content with the fact that yours was approved in time and it's icing on cake that it's 2 yrs validity. the way i see it, it's all good news. Point me to the bad news please.

Well, good news because i don't have to worry about renewing it for another 18 months, bad news because does it mean my 485 is nowhere near processing.
Either way im not fretting about it, when its my turn i will get it. It was just a statement.

Valid question but please refrain from saying AC21 to draw member attention. AC21 is not relevent for this issue. this seems to be a general job change question. Talk to your HR at either your new company or the old one.

Since i had gotten the email from USCIS that its in mail - so no surprises
- How did the long wait upset your life?
I only waited 7 months - so no upsets - even before my GC was filed - i was in US for only about 2 years or so - so no big deal - in those 2 years - my employer did not discriminate in terms of promotions/ pay hikes etc. I had bought a house even before my GC was filed and spouse could work because of my L1 status
- How did immigrationvoice help you during this long wait?
Not Applicable since IV is not really focused (and rightly so) on my GC category
- Would you like to continue your support to immigration voice and help others waiting?
Sure - some of my closest friends are in H1B and i see how the long wait affects them and their families - having said that - i like to make up my mind (rightly or otherwise) about which initiatives are good or bad/ effective or ineffective- so as and when I see initiatives i get excited about like flower campaign, letters to various lawmakers etc- happy to help

Yes and any one who feels bad can take admission and complete MS. It takes 3-4 semesters any ways.

I understand your mental condition because my Labor was also traded in market during 2004... Dont take any impulsive step by reading forums ! Make sure you 've correct docs and stuffs before letting employer know that you sued them. Remember they can revoke H1B anytime showing completely different reasons.
Also remember you have to pay for your lawyer - this is not going to be a 'class action' or any 'criminal trial' that you be will assisted with lawyer.
I'm not discouragaing you to complain against wrong-doers but be ready before cracking down on them.

Personally, if I am not going to get a GC, I would much prefer loosing 20-25% of the PPF and have some chance of recovering the remainder from the "babus" than loosing all of it to the US government that considers me ineligible for benefits that I have already paid for in full. Its a positive sign that the Indian govt, whatever its vested interest may be, has at least considered taking up this issue.
Lets not nitpick on corruption and nepotism in our home countries. Its no secreat that it exists here as well - except that it goes by different names such as premium processing, amnesty etc and the whole thing is more streamlined and marketed with a positive spin on it.Nobody has experienced that more than us. And yeah, I am being cynical here.

Five reasons why I oppose immigration reform bill in its current form.
1. This bill in its current form does nothing to reduce the current backlog of employment based backlog of green cards. This bill infect reduces number of legal immigrant visas from 140000 to 90000 immediately for people who are waiting line legally and been paying taxes and contributing in fields of Computers , technology , pharmacy , nursing.
2. This bill makes things difficult/impossible of renewal of legal visas for me and my sister(both of us are on H1B).This bill changes renewal of H1B from three years to one year even if green card application is pending where as undocumented/illegal persons can renew their Z visa unlimited number of times even if they have no intention of applying for green card.
3. This bill puts more restrictions on H1B visa while awarding Z1 visa for undocumented /illegal persons with far less restrictions. Z1 visa can be self petitioned, they can work for any employer of their choice and job of their choice and they don’t even have to work as long as they go to school. H1B is far more restrictive, H1b visa holder is held hostage by employer and employer has to file the documentation for eligible candidate.
4. This bill does nothing to lift the per country allocation of green cards for legal/merit based applicants of green cards. If merit is the criteria for green card why should it matter what nation one comes from. Amazing thing about this bill is that if you are illegal and have a Z1 visa it does not matter what country you are from, NO COUNTRY BASED CAPS FOR UNDOCUMENTED/ILLEGALS (They are no more illegal because they have Z1 visa)while applying green card.
5. New merit based system that senate is planning to introduce is totally skewed towards illegal/undocumented people as well. Some of the key points, If you have a Z1 VISA(ILLEGAL/UNDOCUMENTED) and own a home you get some points in green card , If you are legally here and paying taxes and own a home you don’t get any points. If you have a Z1 VISA (ILLEGAL/UNDOCUMENTED) and have health insurance you get some points in green card, if you are legally waiting in line and have health insurance for whole family you don’t get any points. If you have Z1 visa (ILLEGAL/UNDOCUMENTED) and you have kids, Kids get Green card in 3 years. If you are legal and you have kids, Kids don’t get anything unless they become illegal and wait for next amnesty or legalization.
Please call your Senator and Congressman and let them know that this bill punishes people who are following rules while awarding undocumented people. This is not a letter from anti immigrant bigot who opposes every thing based upon talking points circulated. Your case is a bit different, I am not sure if you could avoid paying back as GC process is for your benefit so a company could request a pay-back, even though amount is a bit high and you did not get anything in return. I would compare it to a situation where company gives an employee a laptop and expect person to return it when s/he leaves a company.
helloh1's clause is different - company receives benefits by training its employees so it's just plain wrong to request a pay back in that case.
So just forget about it and move on, we all make mistakes and here in the US those mistakes usually cost money.

Nothing much is going to happen.she clearly has said 6039 is gone.So recapturing no doubt its also gone.

Whenever we call them they have a standard answer 30 days,then 60 days.

Whenever we call them they have a standard answer 30 days,then 60 days.
Latest 30 days.
Its the same for GC too.
They are least bothered.CHC must have been everything.Is every immigrant genious,scientists,doctors,engineers like they have argued.They cannot build wall with only so called expected genious.
Discrimination to the core.
Not even next summer.
may be they will do for amnesty.so they can again boycott us and be busy with those applications.Lawyers can also earn well.
