We have had several wonderful members who have joined the chapter already. We are forming local networks in Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville so that it's easier for all TN members to participate in the chapter activities. Coordination of the activities will be done through the Yahoo group.

I'll be coordinating activities in Nashville area. So if you are from Nashville or surburbs, feel free to PM me.

Mahatma has kindly agreed to coordinate the activities in Knoxville area. If you are in Knoxville or surrounding areas PM him, he'll help us get organized. Members like him who already have their GCs and helping our cause is a real insiration to the rest of us.

We are in the process of setting up a network in Memphis too. Don't worry Memphiseans, you are in our radar :). PM me your details and I'll help you folks get organized. We already have some enthusiatic volunteers ready to work with in building local networks.

IV TN is not all Immigration. We are building strong network of likeminded persons. It will not only help us work with IV to solve our GC problem, but also spin off into future opportunities from the development of these network.

All in all, I really feel blessed to be working with this group of motivated volunteers.

It does not matter who you are working for what matters is where you are living. Let's say there is a theft at your home while living in US, will you call Canadian police or US cops?

If the answer is US cops then the answer is very straight forward, you have to play by the rule of the land where you are living,

there is only one exception

If you work in a Embassy then you are on the autonomous land of the respective country, so if you are planning to work for Canadian Embassy then you will not need any US visa.

Hi, Congratulations :) When our son was born, we were in a similar predicament. We had to travel to India after about 60 days. This was the sequence of events..we got the birth certificate after 10 days, SSN after about 25 days. Applied for passport, paid extra for expedited service and got it in less than a week. Went to the indian embassy and person, explained the situation and the got the visa in about 2 days..

Afterwards i found out that the PIO involves less paperwork :) but i dont know how long that will take ...

Dear IV Friends,

After reading the title you people must be thinking that i got my GC or 485 approved but the fact is I Finally got my PERM filed this month. The purpose of this thread is to inform anyone who is waiting for PERM withdrawal that it took THREE months to withdrawal my OLD perm application. I hope no one is in this situation.

Whenever i use to post something on IV, folks use to have a generic answer "update your profile" but i couldn't as i was waiting to file my PERM. This for those people who always wanted me to update my profile. Checkout my Priority date is April 09 :D in my profile

I am in my 5th year of H1b hope this time i get my PERM approved. In my earlier Green card process i have already been through this queue two times and now i have to start allover again.

Since your I-140 is approved, your chance of I-485 RFE is very low. I think you should be ok since the key is that on the day your I-485 is approved, you must have a job offer per your labor.

Hi

I hold a H1b Visa but did not work after coming to US.
Can anybody guide me regarding my current status.
My H1 was approved in 2007 quota and i entered US in march 2008..but was not successful in getting a job and my employer is not running any payroll..
can anybody help me with this??

RUN buddy RUN! This forum is for LEGAL immigrants trying to get their employment based green cards. There are people from EB3 with PD from 2001 ( yeah, TWO THOUSAND AND ONE) who are maintaining their EB status diligently by having a steady job and waiting and waiting and waiting for their GC to come.

Now, you coolly come and say what you have just said and have the gall to ask for advice.

The same applies to other poster 'nehas' also who had a similar question.

The only advantage now is if lawsuit wins then people who has submitted will be better position but i dont recommend submitting now as the current situations will help if at all it is , for who applied before July 2.

My wife got her EAD but mine has not arrived. No AP yet for either..

Online status still shows 'Application received and pending" for both...have they stopped updating USCIS online status.

Is it normal or something to worry about..

I just got married not long ago.

I'm planning to apply I-485 this july.
My question:
Should she change her name prior to applying I-485 or she can do it after we applying I-485.
How easy it�ll be to change last name while I-140 and I-485 pending?

Anyone in the same boat?

Yes, affidavits or letter on employer letterheads from your colleagues about your progressive experience should suffice.For EB2 you need to prove that you have Masters or Bachelors with five years of progressive experience.

I am not sure how you are seeing 14000 EB3 visa in totals. If you look at the table that says India, there are approx 8000 visas or so around Dec 02 for India alone. In addition, I believe the country quota is 7% and not 10% but I could be mistaken on that.

Since you would get approx 3000 EB3 visa's every year, that is why the PD is not moving.

Guys, Suggest me a good consulting company. My employer is OK until now and he just started demanding money even for H1 extensions. I am seriously thinking of moving. Please suggest good desi consulting companies who can support my GC and keep min billing. I have a very good project in hand

My ex-employer processed my h1b and applied for GC with no cost to me. I worked for about 3.5 years and then moved to the client where I was working as a consultant. I had a good relationship and I was treated exceptionally well as I always fought for what I deserved. Now the company has grown bigger and excpetions are not made but they are fair (upto 90%)

When you apply for H4 for the new wife. Make sure you take the follwoing:

1. Divorce Decree.
2. New Marraige registration(India Marraige Registration). Take the Marraige certificate and the Copy of the Application(Application you provide at the local authority to get your new marraige registered). Also make sure you Check the Divorced in the application. US consulate wants to make sure you have given the right info to the Local authorities).
3. Based on your H1, your new wife will get her H4 stamped.(been through it so it works like a charm).

When was your I-140 applied? I would assume revoking of 140 should be your only concern, since you already applied for 485, you don't need to bother about your status.Also apply fopr EAD based on proof that you applied for 485(Fedex # should be enough)
One thing I am not sure if not getting paid during 485 processing would have any impact on the case? Gurus, pls chip in..
